Mauna Loa Solar Observatory

Mauna Loa Solar Observatory (MLSO), is an NSF facility to improve our understanding of solar activity and its space weather impacts. Operated by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), it observes the solar atmosphere with instruments designed and built by NCAR, with community input, to maximize scientific return. We present examples of community science using MLSO data and highlight best practices to engage with the community to optimize observing codes, data products, and tools.
