Defining What Tailoring, Scaling and Progressive Elaboration Plans Mean to All Lifecycle Phases

This talk provides a short explanation of how to apply tailoring, scaling and progressive elaboration to the creation of management plans for all Research Infrastructure life cycles. No single set of management processes and tools fits all NSF RI life cycle stages. Presenter will share knowledge from experience on ways to avoid unnecessary administrative burdens or inadequate management plans, and how to strike a balance between economically matching project while and maintaining adequate rigor and oversight capabilities.
